Flossing is a simple oral hygiene procedure that, when performed daily, can insure healthy gums and teeth.

Take a piece of floss around 12-18 inches and wind it around the index finger of each hand.

Grasp it firmly between the thumb and index finger.

Fingers are separated by about an inch.

Use the thumb to guide the floss in upper and index finger to direct floss in lower teeth.

Use a gentle sawing motion; never snap the floss into the gums.

The two most important aspects of flossing are wrapping the floss around the tooth and using a new section of floss for each contact.

The floss holder is also available in market, it’s a standard Y-shaped holder or forked prong device, where the floss is strung taut between the two prongs.
